ribbed-elytra water beetle - Acilius semisulcatus - Female
Windham, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, USA
April 20, 2004
Size: 15 mm approx.
A temporary seepage stream had crossed the lawn and that's where I found this handsome water beetle. Unfortunately for him, I had him in a jar with some ground beetles who found him tasty (see underside view).
