Size: 21 mm
It is very tough finding good ID references online for this family. Another photo of this insect is on insect net, but it too, is not identified. I've noticed a higher than usual number of squash bugs unidentified on this website than most insect families. Any help in ID would be great. Thanks.

Hey, I got a specimen of this thing from the Keys, back in 1977:-) I'm STILL trying to figure out what it is! Ha! Hope somebody out there knows.

Key to Coreidae Florida
There's an on-line Key to Coreidae of Florida (1)--scroll down to find the link on the URL given there. It is a bunch of linked documents, no illustrations that I saw, but looks like thorough keys and descriptions. I looked at the descriptions of Anasa species, but did not see one that fit this photo. I'm way not competent to use the key, but I'm sure Eric is.

Just a thought.

Corecoris?
Looks to me like a Corecoris, based on the figure in the PDF format of the key to Florida Coreidae.

Corecoris fuscus
Eric, thanks for keying this out. Now we both know what this is. Based on the PDF file, the longitudinal bars on the protonum make it a C. fuscus. I can't wait to get your new book.
