Long-horned Leaf Beetle - Donacia

Long-horned Leaf Beetle - Donacia
Amherst, Massachusetts, USA
May 11, 2004
There were quite a few of these small beetles feeding on grass pollen/nectar in the marshy area behind our home at sunset. Along with this copper colored gem, was this species as well:

According to Ceder Creek's site, they appear to be of the Chrysomelidae family, but I am not sure on the exact species.

Plant...
...in this photo is a sedge (Carex) in flower.

I'm extremely amused.
I first saw your name and told myself I was imagining things, but I finally looked it up. I first heard of you at the bottom of my cards for Magic the Gathering, and now I interact with you here on bugguide...You have no idea how funny I find this....You have quite the package, both your photography and art are amazing. Hehehehe... so funny

Thanks Will
For the kind words. Like you, I have many interests and nature has always inspired my artwork:)
