this is a burrowing wolf spider Hogna aspersa

Yes, it could be georgicola,
Yes, it could be georgicola, but im leaning more toward helluo, or maybe just another excessively dark coloured Hogna lenta. These dark colored ones with an orange stripe on the thorax are my favorite.

Very similar spider up north. Could this possibly be Hogna aspersa? Photos are a guessing game, but still fun. here is a spider i think is H. aspersa, but georgicola came to mind a few times.

Sharon, this is an excellent photo of this species. I hope someone can give you a positive ID on it. It looks to be an unusual species not listed on Bug Guide.
