Orange eyed fly
Lake Placid, Highlands County, Florida, USA

Size: 8mm roughly
I have photographed flies with similar tail spikes but not ones with such bright orange eyes. The base color of this fly, to the naked eye, was kind of silver. The white on the flanks closest to the camera are whited out by the flash.

Sarcophagidae?
The red or orange tail is often found on Sarcophagidae.
