Flower scarab? - Euphoria kernii

Flower scarab? - Euphoria kernii
Williamson County, Texas, USA
May 28, 2005
Size: ~ 1/2 inch
This beetle was one of many in a prickly pear flower; I would usually see one like this, and several black ones covered with pollen, in each flower at the yellow stage. The black ones were always wallowing in the stamens, so a clear picture was impossible without removing them.

No doubt about it
Looks like Euphoria kerni.

Thanks!
I thought these little guys were quite handsome, so I'm glad to have a name for them.
