Second Adalia of the season... - Adalia bipunctata

Second Adalia of the season... - Adalia bipunctata
Pelerin, Breau Creek, Kent County, New Brunswick, Canada
April 4, 2010
Size: ~ 4mm
Yet another of the colour forms with luminous maculae...
I tend to agree with Abigail that this has to be one of the most striking and beautiful of the many colour patterns of this highly variable species.

- found on a grey birch that was chewed by beaver last fall and exuding much sap, attracting bees, flies and possibly food for the Lady Beetle!
