Symphylan under bark

Symphylan under bark
Shaw Nature Reserve near Gray Summit, Franklin County, Missouri, USA
April 4, 2010
Size: 5 mm
I see a lot of these in decomposing wood, under bark, and sometimes in leaf litter this time of year. They seem to disappear in the heat of summer, except the last two years when we've have exceptionally rainy and relatively cool summers.

Moved from Pauropodans.
