Polistes metricus - female

Polistes metricus - Female
Perry County, Pennsylvania, USA
April 12, 2010
I saw this queen land in front of me in the grass. Just at a quick glance, I saw she was unusually large and had deep black and red markings. I instantly thought maybe annularis and ran to get my net. But it is not annularis and appears to be a huge metricus queen instead
