Phyllophaga postrema - Phyllophaga postrema

Phyllophaga postrema - Phyllophaga postrema
Middleburg, Clay County, Florida, USA
April 2, 2010
Size: 18.8mm
Light trap. Tried out a new publication "Scarab Beetles (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) of
South Carolina" 2001. This guy keys out as P. postrema. Compared the key data to "The
Scarab Beetles of Florida, Vol 13 by Woodruff and it coincides well. Although no Florida
host has been identified, it is found on Honeysuckle (Lonicera) in Georgia. There are two
species of Lonicera w/in 20meters of the capture location. Maybe Mike Thomas can get Paul
Skelly to look at it.
