caterpillar on nut tree - Periclista

caterpillar on nut tree - Periclista
Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, USA
April 10, 2010
This was on some type of small nut type of tree, similar to a hickory or something. I would guess that it was around a centimeter long, but didn't measure it. It reminds me of a picture of a more mature larva that I've seen, but I can't remember what sp.

Tenthredinidae, Blennocampinae
Periclista sp. Species of this genus feed on oaks and hickories.

Thank you
for the ID. I was going to try to get a more mature larva, but they'd disappeared by the time I went back for more pictures.

Moved from ID Request.

Maybe you can find a match
