Identification
Green or purplish brown. Slant-faced, eyes large. Wings reduced to pads, even in adult, so flightless.
Range
Florida, southeastern Alabama, southern Georgia.
Habitat
Open areas in pines, flatwoods, hammocks.
Season
In Florida, eggs hatch May-June and adults are found July-February.

Wingless Florida Grasshopper, Aptenopedes aptera. Osceola's Grasshopper, Hesperotettix osceola, is very similar, but has small wings.
