Pseudomasaris vespoides - male

Pseudomasaris vespoides - Male
Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
June 6, 2009

Great shot, Jonathan!
You'll see these at BFS, as soon as more of the Penstemon will be in bloom. Typical male vespoides with
antennal club longer than antennal segment III, and concave beneath.

Thanks, Hartmut!
Pseudomasaris spp. are surprisingly common in BFS once the Penstemon spectabilis is in bloom. Thanks for helping me distinguish them!
