i find the beast easily recognizable as is, but maybe --just maybe-- adding a ventral (specimen condition permitting) would be a good idea: hydrophilid identification relies heavily on underside features, thoracic sterna, etc.

 
O. pubescens?
This is not O. costatum. That species has a costate pronotum, a more pronounced metaventral ridge, and prosternal pits. This seems identical to specimens of O. pubescens which I recently posted.
