Six-spotted Orb-weaver - Araniella displicata - male

Six-spotted Orb-weaver - Araniella displicata - Male
Morse Wildlife Preserve, Pierce County, Washington, USA
April 14, 2010
Found in a fir tree.

Six-spotted
Don't know if I found a juvenile six-spotted, but these rank among the smallest of the orbweavers, like the trashline. The small size makes for a very difficult photography situation, so good picture. Can't wait to put a macro-extension lens on one and get it on video. see also Spider Facts

What a handsome
handsome fella!

Thanks,
I took the entire afternoon (finally some sunshine here) and photographed everything in sight. :) Now I'm watching a Minute to Win It (for the first time) and working on photographs. I'd say a day well spent.
