Philodromus rufus? - male

Philodromus rufus? - Male
Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
April 17, 2010
Size: dime sized
Is this a Philodromus rufus? We had a Philodromus rufus last year but its abdomen was MUCH larger than its prosoma. On this one the abdomen is smaller. Does that mean this is a male and the other one was probably a female? Or does the abdomen grow over time and maybe this is a youngster? Also, if this is indeed another Philodromus rufus, is there any way to tell which kind? Are there multiple of them in Massachusetts? Many thanks!

Moved
Moved from ID Request. Male because of swollen pedipalps ("boxing gloves" on end of leg-like structures at front of spider) and not as much because of shape or size of abdomen.

It is a male
I don't know about rufus.
