April Mayfly - Callibaetis ferrugineus

April Mayfly - Callibaetis ferrugineus
Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada
April 18, 2010
Size: main body ~1.5 cm
I believe this a Callibaetis nigritus male? Taken near a slow moving, weedy stream. Although I took several photos most did not turn out.

Callibaetis ferrugineus hageni
Scott-

Callibaetis nigritus has been relegated to a synonym of Callibaetis ferrugineus hageni, which yours is likely to be, as I believe that is the only Callibaetis species/subspecies found in British Columbia. With regard to body length, I would expect it to be no more that 10 mm for a male imago of the 1st emergence generation of the year.

Thank you for the input, I do
