Hi Harlan - Yep, F. exsectoides, originally a savanna/prairie edge species. Shininess, uniform color of head and mesosoma, and as Alex says, head shape (concave rear margin) differentiate from F. obscuripes.

Thanks, James. I have a pretty big nest in my back yard and I have been taking a lot of photographs. I will be posting photographs of other creatures found on the nest. I haven't figured out the relationships yet.
