White Clover Weevil - Ischnopterapion virens

White Clover Weevil - Ischnopterapion virens
Marlton, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
April 30, 2010
Size: Maybe around 2 mm?
I find these sweeping grass/clover to feed my spiders.
The size is NOT counting the "nose", just rear to eyes.

got it... at last! another alien, a eurotramp; female, too
Moved from Apioninae.

Thanks
No wonder I always find them sweeping clover!

NOT counting the nose is the right way to measure those
i wish i could be of more help, ID-wise :/

Maybe someone
will want me to send one to them. Until someone has an answer of shows an interest I can wait.

the problem is,
after Dave Kissinger's recent retirement nobody seems to [be willing to] study/ID them... i had to twist some arms to get people look into ref. collections and check my calls. really sad.

Until then
we're the ones willing to study them. We'll keep finding old papers and researching, and we'll keep collecting pictures, and we'll keep b*tching until one of the kids on this site needs an idea for his PHD work!
