Family? - Eustrophopsis bicolor

Family? - Eustrophopsis bicolor
New Hampshire, USA
Size: 7 mm approx.
Collected in south-central New Hampshire, probably in 2004, died before I found time to shoot it, was pickled in alcohol, and was finally photographed 12/11/05.

I assumed this beetle's head was downturned for no good reason but I discovered that was its natural position when I tried to straighten its posture. The head in this photo is in an unnaturally extended position, as you can plainly see in the underside view. This beetle looks a little like an alleculinine, but beyond that appearance I'm clueless.

Melandryidae: Eustrophinae: Eustrophus?
It is one of the Eustrophine melandryids.

Tetratomidae: Eustrophinae: Eustrophopsis bicolor
As I was curating our Eustrophines, I just realized they are now members of the Tetratomidae.

Noted
and so moved!

Excellent!
I don't have many in that family. This one's very welcome :-)
