Very large fly - Soldier Fly? - Stratiomys maculosa

Size: 20mm or more
Appeared to be feeding on plant. See second frame. Unusual teardrop shaped spot towards the posterior of the fly. Looking through the guide I see Stratiomys maculosa is pretty close.
