Cypress Sawfly Larva
Correct, it is a Susana Cupressi Sawfly Larva.

They are not caterpillars.
Found a few here in Cornville, AZ in the past week on our Cypress.

Sawfly larva.
I believe there is a species that feeds on cypress.
