Eastern Tiger Swallowtail - Papilio canadensis - Amherst, Massachusetts, USA May 19, 2004
We recently put a butterfly feeder in our yard near our lilac tree (which the swallowtails loved). This female visited the lilac every morning about the same time (weather permitting) and eventually began visiting the feeder.
Females have more blue on their wings than males.
