But I really have no clue.

 
We would agree
with Notodontidae and Heterocampinae, but these ready to pupate larve lose so much of their 'standard' color and pattern that they are tough. Not many in Wagner with straight white mid-dorsal stripe, such as Macrurocampa, but could be a number of similar species in Texas. Maybe one of the Texas experts will comment.
