Perhaps a beetle nymph ... or not?

Rove Beetle, I think.
Maybe others will be able to narrow it down (or correct me if I'm wrong).

BTW... Strictly speaking, beetles don't have "nymphs." They undergo complete metamorphosis, from wingless larva to winged adult.

Termite
I consider Rove beetles to be termite-mimics, which is generally a bad strategy, because everything eats termites. But they do look very much alike, and I have been fooled many times. Termites do have nymph stages, although this is an adult that has flown from its nest to find a mate and start a new colony. This one has already shed its wings. Unless of course this is a species of Rove beetle that is a particularly good termite-mimic!

Formosan subterranean termite?
Are there any other termite species found in Mobile that have reproductives that are this light in color?

Probably Formosan
I agree that with the light color and the location, this is almost certainly a Formosan termite. There are probably more reliable characters to differentiate the genera on a reproductive caste termite, but I don't know what those characters are other than those found on the wings..

Wow. It never even entered my mind...
And to think that I identified a newly wingless termite alate just a day or two ago. Shows what happens when one jumps to conclusions, I guess. Many thanks for helping to keep me honest! (And my apologies for the misdirection, Robert.)
