Moved to Subgenus Eoseristalis
Moved from Eristalis flavipes.

Thanks
Thanks Gerard, I had noticed that the wing venation was remarkably like Eristalis, but I had no idea how the venation in Mallota looked like, so I went by the overall look... and got it wrong!

Not Mallota, but Eristalis flavipes male
Hello Philipppe,
By the wing venation is is clear that this fly does not belong to the genus Mallota, but this is in fact Eristalis flavipes! Some Eristalis species look very much like a bumble-bee, as do Mallota. But this is a male of Eristalis flavipes, which is also visible by the orange tarsi of it's third legs in your other photo!
Greetings,
Gerard Pennards
