Caddisfly 1 - Phryganea sayi

Caddisfly 1 - Phryganea sayi
Williamsburg, Virginia, USA
This caddisfly seems to have more distinct markings than some. It was found in the middle of the summer 2005 on a pine tree.

P. sayi
Moved from Phryganea to new species page based on distribution info which lists sayi as the only species occurring in Virginia and adjacent states.

Moved
Moved from Caddisflies.

yes, the markings look distinctive; maybe someone will recognize this one

Phryganea species
Nolie's photo here has been identified as a Phryganea species, and this looks like one also. I made a page for the genus here.

A link on the Guide page gives distribution info for both North American species, and only one of them (P. sayi) is listed as occurring in Virginia.
