That's what I use for a natural looking background on my bugs photographed after chilling.

looks an awful lot like Stegobium paniceum, but...
...[i] the pronotum looks duller [more punctate]; [ii] the lateral pattern of the elytral striae is somewhat diff., and [iii] it was found outside! i'll ask our Boris to check

It probably was inside
I was photographing beetles I collected outside, and this little guy was walking on the counter where I was working. I thought it was from one of the vials I emptied, but maybe not.
