At first , I thought it was a Fairy Moth by the markings but upon closer inspection ... I realized it was not a moth at all . I think it is some kind of Hopper since it did not fly away , but I don't know if it is a Sharpshooter or Leafhopper or a Spittlebug . This little fellow is a wonder to me and it would be great to know what it is even though it was the only one seen on a very long trail . Thnks for any comments , sincerely Beth
