I am trying to find out if this species is native or not. I asked Charles Bartlett of the University of Delaware. So far it seems that it probably is, although it is a worldwide species. He may be able to tell me more later.
He added this comment: "By the way - that particular specimen http://bugguide.net/node/view/399865 looks like Muellerianella laminalis. I would need to see its frons, or its tail, to be sure." (Comment by Charles Bartlett).

That's interesting. I'm pretty sure I saved this specimen and gave it to Don Chandler. I'll have to see if he's confirmed the species ID or not.

Sogatella kolophon
Actually, a coastal Delphacid, but one that flies vigorously. Although endemic to the southeastern states, it has been found as far north as Cape Breton Island!
