Hypera rumicis

Hypera rumicis
Ackworth, Warren County, Iowa, USA
May 29, 2010
Size: ~ 4 mm
This dead individual was in a cocoon that I opened up. View of reddish-brown body with abdomen partially covered with dark brown membrane. [EDIT on May 31: In retrospect, I now realize this was a new adult that died shortly after emerging from its pupal case.]
