Mantidfly - Zeugomantispa minuta

Mantidfly - Zeugomantispa minuta
Hwy 55 and Sedwick, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
July 6, 2005
Size: 15 mm
Found at a light, posed. Body length, head (not including antennae) to tip of abdomen, 15 mm. Length to tip of folded wings about 19 mm.

Looks similar to this individual, found at the same site about one year earlier:

We don't have too many of these in the guide, and perhaps some day we'll be able to assign these to species. (Assignment of New World species to genus Mantispa may have been changed, I understand, as well.) See comments.

#40280 Identification – Zeugomantispa minuta
Identification confirmed.

Gorgeous!
What great images, Pat! I just learned that this species is Zeugomantispa minuta (formerly Mantispa viridis). I can barely keep up with the changes myself! Other Mantispa are now placed in Dicromantispa (interrupta, sayi).

Excellent--other images?
Great, do you want to go through and re-arrange photos, or should I? I'm presuming the bright green ones are the former Mantispa viridis? I've seen what Of course, if you can add any references, that would be great.
