spider - Emblyna sublata - Male
Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
May 29, 2010
Size: 2.5mm

Moved
Moved from "Dictyna-like".
Another new species for the guide! But this is the only picture I took, so I don't have any other angles.

Emblyna sublata
Finally a Dictyna... but it's now in the genus Emblyna: Emblyna sublata. It has a very distinctive palp (see Paquin & Dupérré, 2003).

Specimen: kmp-6292

Chamberlin & Gertsch (1958) describe the species as being widespread in the eastern United States and adjacent Canada; I even see records from the Black Hills, in western South Dakota.

Do you have any other views? The chelicerae are strongly angled. If not, I can shoot it under the microscope.
