Nipponoserica peregrina

Nipponoserica peregrina
Mountville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA
May 31, 2005
Size: 1cm
A specimen from my collection. Prevously identified from a different photo by Phillip Harpootlian as Nipponoserica peregrina. His comment as follows:

"I sent your photos to the Serica expert - he says Nipponoserica - good enough for me! Still often listed as Serica sp. - very little seems to be have been written about this species except the note in Dawson. While its been here for at least 80 years, appears limited to the NE."

See if this helps!
I found both antennae on it. I relaxed it earlier today and dried it under a light. Let me know if this helps. I still can get you a side shot, but I seemed unsuccessful at getting a good one.

Great!
Good job - better than original shot. Those antenna will distinguish this from Serica sp., like;

The really distinctive thing about this genus, compared to Serica are the really large antenna, almost Polyphylla like - any chance of getting a side shot showing that?

I'll Try
This is a pretty worn specimen and it may be missing the antenna, but I see what I can do.
