Some kind of tick?

Some kind of tick?
Farmington, San Juan County, New Mexico, USA
I'm almost positive this is a tick. I've found 5 of these (this size) in my house this winter. Even though I am in NM, I would also consider other states (things are shipped in, dog traveled to OK, etc). I really need to know what this is exactly...

Some sort of tick? Some kind of tick?

Soft tick
That's a soft tick, not a hard tick.
Not the wrinkly upper surface (giving it a raisin-like appearance)?
Also see in the other photo how it's legs are folded neatly beneath it's body.
From what I can m,ake out, it also seems to lack a dorsal sheild ("scutum").

Nice find, and I'm sorry the camera magnification didn't work out so well. :)
I hope everything works out well. ^U^

I agree
This is definately a soft tick, not a hard tick.
