Not a pretty picture: one of the larvae didn't make it and left the remnants of the spider meal that its mother had provided. You can see about ten spiders along with fragments of the clay partitions and of the cocoon.
I opened this cell on June 2010.
Only later did I notice the loosely woven cocoon (lower left corner), and much later a tiny parasitic wasp completely caked with mud and other debris. It took a lot of work with my most delicate artist brush to make it look presentable.
