Eusattus reticulatus? - Eusattus convexus

Eusattus reticulatus? - Eusattus convexus
Las Cruces, Doña Ana County, New Mexico, USA
December 28, 2005
Size: 12 mm
Beetle tried in vain to duck under stainless ruler in my light arena. It seemed agitated and rapidly drummed its abdominal tip on several occasions. The hollow space beneath the colored foam-core background amplified the drumming. (More details on other dorsal view.)

Drumming taped
Last month I taped the drumming sound this beetle makes and would like to transfer it to my computer and attach a clickable sound file to this page if possible. I'm not sure how I would go about it though, Any suggestions?

On the topic, once (if) we get a system worked out, I think it would be neat to attach sound files of other insects. Many beetles stridulate in protest when you pick them up, and of course orthopterans are famous for their calls.
