Rock Slater - Ligia

Rock Slater - Ligia
Flagler Beach, Flagler County, Florida, USA
May 30, 2010
Size: ~1"
Lots of these run the walls of the canals behind the houses in Flagler Beach - do I have it in the right place?

Ligia
I think you are correct. Maybe L. exotica or L. baudiniana. I know next to nothing about these guys but have been trying to sort these out. Take a look at "Bulletin of the United States National Museum, Volumes 54-55" here and "Transactions of the Connecticut Academy of Arts and Sciences, Volume 11" here and here. The former source mentions the number of of flagellum segments as significant. You might want to count them for starters. There are more illustrations at the Lander University website here.
