Spider - Eustala anastera - female

Spider - Eustala anastera - Female
Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee, USA
June 9, 2010
Size: ~10 mm
A nice little spider, one of many attracted to the insects attracted to lights on my deck. I scanned the orb weavers, but didn't see anything close. Size is length of body, excluding legs.

Moved
Moved from Eustala.

TN Eustala
According to Levi 1977 this must be E. anastera, E. cepina, or E. emertoni. Of those three only E. anastera gets near 10 mm. Both other species are about half that size.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

We would suggest Eustala
We don't know that genus well enough yet to suggest a species, however.
