nope - can't be definitive.
but I can be moderately sure. It looks like a nymph of
Melanoplus bivittatus
. For one thing, the dark racing stripe on the hind leg is visible, and only a few species have similar.

I did notice that,
even though they stand out in this photo. I think it's not unusual. They seem to vary from individual to individual in both nymphs and adults.
