Size: ~10-12 mm
Long-legged fly, hemispherical red eyes, long proboscis, humped thorax, distinctive terminal segments on abdomen; a predator of smaller insects; not extremely small -- nearly 1/2-inch long. Found on Madia sp flower where it may have been lurking in wait for prey; later moved to other perches carrying prey item.
