Pallid-winged Grasshopper - Trimerotropis pallidipennis - female

Pallid-winged Grasshopper - Trimerotropis pallidipennis - Female
Santa Barbara County, California, USA
June 11, 2010
Size: ~3cm
Very wary difficult to approach, found in clearing along trail through recently burned Burton Mesa chaparral. Maybe a mate to: . Thinking this might be T. pallidipennis?

Moved
Moved from Trimerotropis.

It certainly looks like
T. pallidipennis. I think the only other one likely to have similar proportions and coloring (except for clear bluish wings instead of yellow) would be T. pseudofasciata, which has the lobes of the pronotal crest on the prozona much higher and usually has a hint of a tooth at the hind angle of the lateral lobes of the pronotum.
