Moth from the Smokies. 6/14/2010 - Herpetogramma
Catalochee, Great Smokies National Park, Haywood County, North Carolina, USA
Size: wingspan: ~30 mm, bl ~14
I found several caterpillars inside rolled leaves on 5/25/2010. Only one pupated and eclosed. Approximate day of eclosion: 6/14/2010.
Unfortunately, I did not take pictures of the caterpillars.
The host plant was identified as Wood Nettle (Laportea canadensis).
