I'd like to know what is parasitizing the beetle, also.

Harmonia axyridis with Laboulbeniales fungus
The Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle; the fungus is fairly common on that species. It can really cover them up, but doesn't seem to harm them even when it gets hard to look at!
