This has to be Lygaeus--either L. kalmii or L. turcicus (see John's comment below regarding the dark lines on the thorax).

Its something like the milkweed bug, large or small? Lygaeidae (seed bugs)... either Oncopeltus fasciatus or Lygaeus kalmii I think?
