7045 - Nemoria bifilata
A nice, confusing species of which you have the green or summer form of the eastern supspecies (only previous photo that I have seen of this form is my own taken at Archbold Bio. Res. Sta. about 30 miles away on 7 March - summer ?). Note Mark Dreiling's western subspecies with the spotted rather than striped abdomen. Our eastern subspecies M. b. bifilata is called uncommon, ranging from Long Island to Florida and into the midwest, replaced in east Texas by the subspecies N. b. planuscula. This information is from the 1985 MONA fascicle by Doug Ferguson. Mark Dreiling's specimen(s) are supported by DNA and represent perhaps a slight extension of the range of the species. (no rsvp, thanks)
