looks like
C. monstrosus, and that should be the only species that far west.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad to find out it isn't a Space Bug Or an
Iradiated Swamp Thing! Kidding of course. Just a little surprised when I found this little Guy/Gal? Must be sort of rare, At least in this area. We have plenty of Crickets or Grasshoppers, Not sure of the differance Yet, But nothing that compares to this one.

If this is a juvenile, Will it lose some of its girth as an adult?

Adult female C. monstrosa
Definitely a female, and likely an adult due to its size - although I'm less certain about this as they can get much larger. If it is a juvenile then it certainly won't lose any more girth when it reaches adulthood :)
