I think this is a Convergent Lady Beetle (images in guide), but the lack of spots on most of the back seems odd. Can these spots vary?

This photo was taken along the (flowing) New River in Peoria, Arizona.

I know the photo isn't the best and there are records in the guide for AZ, but there are none for April.
