This chrysalis appears to be brand-spankin' new.

Otherwise, I can't figure out why it is so translucent and seemingly ony "half-filled".

Perhaps brains bigger than mine can provide some illumination on this phenom.

I have one in my house right now and it looked just like this when it was a fresh chrysalis.
