Alypia wittfeldii

Alypia wittfeldii
Naples (Golden Gate Estates), Collier County, Florida, USA
July 7, 2005
Size: Unknown

This moth is Alypia wittfeldii (9316)
This is not Alypia octomaculata. It is Alypia wittfeldii. Check Dr. Covell's book plate 15, #14 and #16. A. wittfeldii has narrow yellow spots on the fore wings...same as the moth in the foto. Also, A. octomaculata is not found so far south in Florida.
